Welcome to the Farmersville Downtown Merchants Association!

Farmersville Downtown Merchants Association (FDMA) began in 2007 when a group of business owners got together to talk about what was, and wasn’t working in the downtown area.  The meetings have grown to include anyone interested in the health and success of Main and McKinney Streets “on the Square” in downtown Farmersville.  The organization is under the umbrella of Farmersville Main Street Program, a State program focused on preserving the integrity and history of Texas small towns and communities.

FDMA has sponsored a number of community-based events during the past year.  In addition to supporting the monthly Farmers & Fleas Market, held on the first Saturday of each month at the Onion Shed, the organization has sponsored Art Festivals, Movies on the Parkway, Chuck Wagon dinners and more, with much more planned for the future.

Perhaps the biggest challenge we face is getting the word out about Farmersville and what a wonderful town it is, not only to live in, but to visit.  After you have seen our many historical markers, shopped in our wonderful shops, and eaten in our diverse and delicious restaurants, there are a number of outdoor activities available including trails, photo blinds, parks, and the many lakes in the area.  If Farmersville is, as the cities motto so aptly states, “… a Texas Treasure”, then Downtown is most certainly a jewel in its crown.  Please take a moment to visit our downtown directory.  You will be pleasantly surprised to find out we have antique stores, gift and jewelry stores, a yarn & fudge shop, embroidery businesses, and one of the top Rodeo Vest businesses in the United States (Ride Rite).  Many of our stores can help you buy that perfect gift or decorate your home.   And while you are looking, don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Kincaid Gallery website.

If you would like to become involved with FDMA, please join us for our monthly meetings held on the second Wednesday of the Month at 9:00 a.m.  Jim Foy of Foy, Inc. has been kind enough to let us use his conference space for the meetings.  If you would like additional information, please feel free to contact us at ranch.dressin@yahoo.com or randalshinn@remax.net.
